Warm up our voices with vocal and diction exercises; learn about staging and acting; find how we use our bodies to express an idea without sound, learn songs, dances, with costumes and scenery, for a three week, non stop, exploration of the art of theater. For healthy summer sunshine we take our scripts to rehearse under the trees of Prospect Park. Add on water fights to cool off, games in Prospect Park, trips to the pool and beach, and trips so our stars have a healthy summer with plenty of sunshine. The last week is reserved for extra rehearsals with a pizza party before the show. REGISTER EARLY SPOTS ARE LIMITED. Our Director, John Freeman, will be coming back for his seventh year to to lead our Exploring Theater campers in producing a show. Mr. Freeman, is a graduate of North Carolina School of the Arts.
CAMPS
Explore the art of creating and telling a story while developing it into an original, one of a kind written play, which is performed in front of a live audience on the last Friday of the session. Campers develop focus, and discipline as they work together to explore the many fun aspects of creating, performing and producing a show. To assure our actors the healthy sunshine needed to shine, we add on trips to the park, pool and beach. Session 1: July 5th-23rd. Session 2: July 26th–August 13th.
