Hurricane Sandy News - Brooklyn Botanic Garden

Brooklyn Botanic Garden has closed to the public in anticipation of the storm approaching the metropolitan area today. Pending the outcome of the storm, the Garden will reopen to the public at the earliest possible opportunity. Check bbg.org for updates.

After reopening, BBG will continue to offer its free winter weekday admission, as well as special Light in Winter programming designed to highlight the Garden’s beauty during the colder months.

Brooklyn Botanic Garden Debuts Tree House Instillation
After Hurricane Sandy, the Brooklyn Botanic Garden decided to use the trees that fell to create Tree House Instillation. The tree house in the Discovery Garden, which was designed by tree house architect Roderick Romero, will serve as an open-air classroom for children’s workshops.
