Back-To-School Denim Campaign FREE

WHAT:

The Westchester is proud to host its back-to-school denim drive, “Do Good with Denim”, to support sustainability and positively impact the community. Customers will be able to contribute any type of denim apparel items to the Do Good With Denim drive; jeans, jackets, shirts, skirts during the month of August. Two trunks will be available for customers to drop off their denim: one at Guest Services on Retail Level 1 and one at the Mall Management Office on Retail Level 4, Savor. All donated denim products will be given to The Sharing Shelf in time for back to school where they will be provided to students to help them return to school in style. Three local college students from Westchester Community College’s Fashion Design & Technology program will also be upcycling denim that will be displayed on mannequins throughout the month of August at Center Court. A Do Good With Denim event will be taking place Saturday, August 27th from 1-4pm at Center Court, Retail Level 1. Customers who donate their denim apparel during the event can enter to win prizes, make crafts with upcycled denim, and more!

The Afro-Peruvian Ensemble is an unforgettable live experience that celebrates a unique heritage and will get you up on your feet! This amazing ensemble brings you the joyful sounds of the Peruvian coast with a contemporary treatment rooted in the rich Afro-Peruvian tradition. The ensemble’s repertoire includes uplifting festejos and zamacuecas, dazzling Peruvian waltzes and hypnotic landos, as well as the “contrapunto de Cajones”(box drums counterpoint) and “contrapunto de Zapateo” (tap dancing competition) classics of the Afro-Peruvian folklore rarely seen in the US. Clifton Anderson is considered one of the leading trombonists and composers performing in Jazz today.
