BOO at the ZOO Returns to the Bronx Zoo Oct. 2

BOO at the ZOO 2021 begins Oct. 2, and guests can enjoy the Bronx Zoo's Halloween activities


One of NYC's most popular fall events—BOO at the ZOO at the Bronx Zoo—is back for the 2021 season with Halloween-themed activities and fun for little Halloween lovers. BOO at the ZOO 2021 begins Saturday, Oct. 2 and will run every Saturday-Sunday through Oct. 31 (including Monday, Oct. 11). And tickets go on sale Tuesday, Sept. 7!

Boo at the Zoo 2021: The Bronx Zoo's Halloween Activities

Spooky activities and events to look forward to at BOO at the ZOO include:

  • Magic and Mind Reading: The Bronx Zoo's popular magician will give an animal-inspired magic and mind reading show at the Grizzly Corner, 11am-4pm, every 30 minutes
  • Extinct Animal Graveyard: The eerie graveyard displays animal species that are no longer with us and teaches us how to prevent extinction in the future at Astor Court, 10am-5pm
  • Costume Parade: See costumed stilt walkers and Halloween-themed puppets at Astor Court, 12pm, 1pm, and 2pm 
  • Pumpkin Carving Demos: Watch experts create animals out of pumpkins at the Giraffe Corner, 11am-4pm. And shout out your favorite animal to see if the carvers can create it during Speed Carving at 11:30am and 2:30pm
  • Candy Trail: Enjoy Halloween treats and discover the favorite snacks of animals at the Mouse House Lawn, 11am-4pm
  • Pumpkin Trail: Walk amongst hundreds of expertly carved pumpkins at the Butterfly Patio, 11am-4pm
  • Halloween Crafts: Create your own seasonal crafts to take home at the Giraffe Corner.
  • Spider Maze: Make your way through the webs and learn about arachnids (geared toward children ages 5 and younger) at Astor Court, 10am-5pm.
  • The Wildlife Witch's Super Scary Halloween Show: Join the witch and her creepy, crawly friends for a funny, short family musical at Astor Court, 10:45am, 11:30am, 12:30pm, 2:30pm, 3:15pm, and 4pm.

The Bronx Zoo is located at 2300 Southern Boulevard, Bronx

When is BOO at the ZOO?

The Bronx Zoo's BOO at the ZOO will be held Oct. 2-31, Saturday-Sunday, plus Monday, Oct. 11.

How much are Bronx Zoo's BOO at the ZOO tickets?

Tickets are $39.95; $34.95 seniors ages 65 and older; $29.95 children ages 3-12; free for children ages 2 and younger. Tickets are on sale now and must be reserved in advance.

What are the Bronx Zoo's current COVID guidelines?

Masks are required indoors for all guests ages 2 and older regardless of vaccine status. When outdoors, unvaccinated guests ages 2 and older are required to wear masks in areas where social distancing cannot be maintained. And, in accordance with NYC Executive Order 225, all guests ages 12 and older must show proof of vaccination (at least 1 shot) to enter indoor exhibits.
