To offset programming cuts during this difficult economy, the Brooklyn Public Library has launched “Support Our Shelves,” a fundraising campaign to help build the library’s collection and support free resources and programs, including computers, career counseling, classes for children and teens, and the opening of the new Kings Highway branch this summer. All donors who contribute $50 or more will receive a bookplate to place in the book of their choice at their local branch.
With a goal of raising $300,000, the campaign runs through May 31. Donations can be made at local libraries, at www.brooklynpubliclibrary.org/support/shelves, or by calling 718-230-2738.
