The 11th annual BAMkids Film Festival returns to the Brooklyn Academy of Music for two days featuring the best children’s films from around the world. One of the films making its New York debut is the German film Stella and the Star of the Orient, which tells the story of a girl who finds herself transported back in time befriending her great-uncle and great-grandmother as children in a quest to find the Star of the Orient and save the family from financial ruin. The festival also includes live music, Q&As with filmmakers, face painting, and more. $11 per screening; $5 per screening for kids 13 and under. Recommended for ages 8-10.
