Description: Kids explore an ancient Chinese invention: Rockets! Learn the basics of propulsion and Newton's laws of motion, then it's 3-2-1 blast off!

Venue Description: The Brooklyn Children's Museum was the first museum created specifically for children. Founded in 1899, the museum's model of youth-oriented exhibitions sparked the creation of similar institutions around the globe, and today the Brooklyn Children's Museum continues as a premier institution for children, its walls overflowing with imagination and wonder-filled learning experiences. The exhibits feature hands-on activities, role-playing opportunities, authentic museum specimens and artifacts, and hundreds of new things to discover about the arts, culture, science, and the environment.

The Brooklyn Children's Museum is located next to Brower Park, one mile from Grand Army Plaza, at 145 Brooklyn Ave. (at St. Marks Avenue). The museum is open Tuesday-Sunday 10am-5pm; open 10am-5pm daily during NYC public school holidays and recess weeks. Admission is $7.50.
